Tell us about your career journey and how you ended up here.
I had always been interested in fashion dolls and toys for girls. After graduating with a degree in Toy Design from Otis College of Art and Design, I worked on the Adora team at Charisma Brand. After that, I heard that the art toy market in China had become very big, so I went back to Korea and worked as a designer. Shortly after, I became interested in wooden toys, and now I work for the German company, Hape, the leader in designing and manufacturing toys made from sustainable materials.

Tell us about a time when you thrived at work, and what you learned about yourself from that experience.
I've experienced various cultures while working different jobs, and I've learned various things about the different countries I've worked in. But most of all, toy companies have one thing in common everywhere in the world: It's the people who lead us in it. Everyone is of one mind when it comes to being positive and loving toys. I also learned that this positive mindset is the most important thing as a company grows.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I am so grateful that I'm able to put what's in my head out into the world as toys. It brings me great happiness to draw a toy in my head, play with it, make it again, and share that happiness in my head with someone else.
How about when you "turn off" and go home? Any hobbies or fun activities you are involved in?
I'm a pretty introverted person, and I love hanging out with people, but when I get home, I really need my own time. So I think I spend most of my time cooking with my cat. My cat is like my soulmate — he's been my friend who has gone with me from America to Korea and back to America.
